With Jesus During The Day – Contemplation in Action

A daytime way to live “Contemplation in Action”

Ignatian “contemplation in action” means: while your day is full of movement, you remain inwardly turned to Jesus—so prayer is not merely “time off,” but a way of being that transforms how you see and act. Pope Francis summarizes the Christian heart of contemplative prayer like this:

“Contemplation is a gaze of faith, fixed on Jesus. ‘I look at him and he looks at me.’”

And he adds the key integration principle:

“in Jesus Christ, in his person and in the Gospel, there is no opposition between contemplation and action.”

So the goal for a day-plan is simple: keep returning your gaze to Jesus and let that “gaze” purify your heart and re-shape your choices.
