O Lord Jesus,
who for our sake didst fast and pray in the desert,
look kindly upon Thy servant this thirty-first day of Lent. Forgive the weakness of my flesh,
the wanderings of my mind,
and the coldness of my heart.
Renew in me a right spirit,
and grant me the grace to walk these remaining days
with greater love for Thee and for my neighbor. By Thy holy Cross and Passion,
strengthen me to carry my own small cross faithfully.
May this Lent bear fruit in my soul,
that at Easter I may rejoice with Thee in newness of life.
