The White House is defending President Donald Trump’s “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” as a historic win for American families — delivering tax breaks, education choice, and new savings tools — amid criticism from Democratic lawmakers.
In a June 6 social media post, the administration dismissed left-wing attacks as misleading, accusing opponents of rejecting middle-class relief.

The post outlined several pro-family provisions, beginning with tax exemptions on tips and overtime pay — measures projected to boost take-home income for workers in service, law enforcement, and healthcare.
A linked White House report estimates the tax changes would raise wages by up to $3,300 annually, increase median household take-home pay by $5,000, boost long-run GDP by as much as 3.2%, and save over 4 million jobs.
The legislation also expands the child tax credit and creates federally funded savings accounts for newborns. The so-called “Trump accounts” would provide $1,000 to every child born during Trump’s second term to encourage long-term saving and, as the White House put it, allow families to “experience the miracle of compounded growth.”
Education choice is another centerpiece of the bill, which increases scholarships for private, religious, and alternative schools.
Health policy provisions include expanded Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), allowing Medicare Part A enrollees to continue contributing, while also increasing income-based contribution limits and broadening eligibility.
As CatholicVote previously reported, the package also defunds Planned Parenthood and blocks Medicaid funding for “gender transition” procedures.
The bill narrowly passed the House May 22 with a 215–214 vote and is now under consideration in the Senate.
