CV NEWS FEED // On May 9, the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) will welcome a new auxiliary bishop, as Bishop-elect Gregg M. Caggianelli, Ch, Col, USAF, is ordained to the episcopate at St. Vincent DePaul Regional Seminary in the Diocese of Venice, Florida.
An emailed press release from AMS states that the ordination will be limited to invited guests only due to space limitations. However, it will be livestreamed on St. Vincent DePaul’s website.
The bishop-elect was born in Kingston, New York, and in 1990 he was commissioned as a line officer in the U.S. Air Force. He served in active duty six years before joining the seminary. He was ordained in the Diocese of Venice on Oct. 25, 2002.
Bishop-elect Caggianelli is an active reservist as the mobilization assistant to the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) Chaplain, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
For his espicopal motto, Bishop-elect Caggianelli chose “My grace is sufficient” (2 Cor 12:9).
