CV NEWS FEED // The woman who attacked pro-life reporter Savannah Craven Antao during a man-on-the-street interview apologized on Facebook, but claimed that Antao “antagonized” her.
“To Savannah, I sincerely apologize but cannot sit around and allow you to continue pushing this one sided narrative,” Brianna Rivers wrote on Facebook. “I understand hands being put on someone is never the answer, but throwing rocks and hiding hands is worse. She knows the truth and she needs to release the footage in its entirety. Savannah is a professional antagonist not a ‘reporter’ and the truth will be told.”
Rivers added, “Anyone who knows me knows how respectful I am, I don’t even litter, there’s no way you believe I’m punching people for disagreeing with my POV.”
As CatholicVote previously reported, Craven had to get two stitches in her eyebrow after Rivers attacked her during the interview in Harlem.
The confrontation escalated quickly after starting off on friendly terms.
After Rivers said abortion was permissible if the parents do not want the baby, Antao asked, “Should we kill the kids in foster care …”
Rivers interrupted her and answered, “Why not?”
Later in the interview when Craven brought up that Rivers had defended killing children in foster care, Rivers attacked her. The entire conversation was recorded on camera.
LiveAction released the uncut interview on April 6.
Antao remained calm throughout the 20-minute interview, listened to Rivers, and brought the topic back to Planned Parenthood and abortion when Rivers discussed other topics. Rivers punched Craven twice in the face and walked calmly away. When the cameraman, Antao’s husband, followed Rivers down the street, she started dancing and gave him the middle finger.
No reports of an arrest had been made at the time of this article’s publication.
This is a developing story.
