Susan Crawford wins Wisconsin Supreme Court seat, defeating conservative Brad Schimel

CV NEWS FEED // Judge Susan Crawford has won the high-stakes Wisconsin Supreme Court election, according to an official call by Decision Desk HQ late Tuesday evening. Her victory over Judge Brad Schimel solidifies a Left-leaning majority on the state’s highest court, with far-reaching consequences for Wisconsin’s political and legal landscape.

The contest drew national attention and unprecedented spending. At the heart of the race were contentious issues like abortion rights and the role of outside influence in judicial elections.

Crawford was backed by prominent Democrats like former President Barack Obama and Left-wing power brokers like George Soros. Former Attorney General Brad Schimel, meanwhile, was supported by Republican heavyweights such as President Donald Trump and Department of Government Efficiency head Elon Musk.

CatholicVote endorsed Schimel and ran ads for his candidacy ahead of Tuesday’s election.

“Brad Schimel came up just short in this crucial race,” said CatholicVote Vice President Joshua Mercer Tuesday evening.

“President Trump was the first Republican to win the popular vote for president since 2004. Trump won by crafting a new coalition of pro-worker voters who trust him to put America First,” Mercer continued. “These voters have become disillusioned with our government and believe that the system is working against the average voter who just wants to live the American dream. We need to work harder to reach these voters about the importance of these critical special elections.”

Crawford’s win is expected to influence upcoming rulings on pro-life laws, parental rights, and election integrity.
