CV NEWS FEED // Associates of St. John Bosco (ASJB) has launched a campaign to fund creative college ministries in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., in light of the rising number of students who abandon the faith during college.
“In a society where over 80% of Catholic college students will leave the Church by the time they graduate,” a press release from ASJB stated, “the need for new, creative, and zealous outreach from Catholic Campus Ministries is dire.”
The ASJB’s Renewal through Innovative Student Evangelization (RISE) award will provide $25,000 to the most creative Catholic campus ministries at three different colleges.
The organization’s website adds that there are several different categories that ministries may apply for: outreach to freshman, fallen-away Catholics, “nones” (atheist, agnostic, and nonreligious), athletes, and others.
“A CCM may submit more than one application, but each application from the same CCM must be for a different group above (only the first such submitted for a group will be evaluated),” the website states.
The organization also reserves the right to offer more or less money than the amount requested by the campus ministries.
Applications are due by May 1, 2025. The winners will be announced in June.
ASJB is a Catholic nonprofit dedicated to helping foster the faith of high school and college students.
