CV NEWS FEED // Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced plans to review the childhood vaccine schedule as part of a broader probe into chronic diseases, he told HHS employees in his first address last week.
“Nothing is going to be off limits in our Chronic Disease Investigation… including the childhood vaccine schedule,” Kennedy said, vowing to also examine the American diet, pesticides, food additives, microplastics, and other potential contributors.
His remarks, which circulated on X, came during a Washington welcome ceremony just days after President Donald Trump signed an executive order creating the “Make America Health Again (MAHA) Commission.”
Kennedy will head the commission tasked with tackling major health challenges and diseases.
Kennedy was confirmed by the Senate Feb. 13.
Kennedy’s critics have long labeled him as “anti-vaccine.” However, he has consistently emphasized that he is not against vaccines but supports vaccine safety, informed consent, and unbiased research.
“Virtually every American would agree with my stance on vaccines, which is that vaccines should be tested, like other medicines,” Kennedy told NewsNation in November 2024.
“They should be safety-tested, and unfortunately, vaccines are not safety-tested,” he said. “Of the 72 vaccine doses now mandated … for American children, none of them – not one – has ever been subject to a pre-licensing placebo-controlled trial.”
During his welcome address last Tuesday, Kennedy emphasized the importance of transparency in science.
“The path to trust is always through transparency,” he said. “No one trusts science that isn’t transparent about its research hypothesis, its raw data, or its conflicts of interest.”
Last week, Kennedy appeared on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle,” where he promised to develop a more accurate vaccine injury reporting and surveillance system.
The current government-run system captures only 1% of injuries, he said.
Kennedy, a Catholic, has also warned that America is facing “a spiritual crisis” linked to the broader “health crisis,” as previously reported by CatholicVote.
“Americans are very, very sick. We are, in fact, the sickest nation on earth,” Kennedy said in the address last week, referencing the executive order’s claim that Americans have the highest chronic disease burden in the world.
Kennedy urged HHS employees to adopt an open mind in the effort to build a healthier nation.
“Let’s all depoliticize these issues and reestablish a common ground… and renew the search for existential truth with no political impediments and no preconceptions,” he said.
