CV NEWS FEED // The Trump administration fired more than 100 intelligence officials from 15 agencies Tuesday after an investigation exposed their participation in sexually explicit, often LGBT-themed chatrooms on a government messaging system.
The internal messaging platform, called “Intelink,” was created by the National Security Agency (NSA) for secure, classified communications.
Instead, employees from various agencies used it to discuss extremely graphic topics, including transgender procedures, artificial genitalia, polyamory, and sexual fetishes.
The chat logs were first published Monday by conservative scholars Christopher Rufo and Hannah Grossman in City Journal and on X, triggering swift action on the part of Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence.
Hours after the chats went public, Rufo reported on X that Gabbard was preparing a memo instructing intelligence agencies to identify and fire those involved in the obscene chat rooms.
Gabbard wrote: “Memo sent. We know who they are. Action is underway.”
Appearing on Fox News Tuesday, she called the chatrooms an “egregious violation of trust.”
“I put out a directive today that they all will be terminated and their security clearances will be revoked,” she said of the employees involved.
“They were brazen in using an NSA platform intended for professional use to conduct this kind of really, really horrific behavior,” Gabbard added. “And they were brazen in doing this because – when was the last time anyone was really held accountable?”
The chat logs originated from DEI-focused messaging groups titled “LGBTQA” and “IC_Pride_TWG,” which were legitimized by the NSA’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) under the Biden administration, according to Rufo’s sources. The agency has called DEI “not only mission critical, but mission imperative.”
Among the disturbing exchanges was one in which an NSA employee insisted on using “it/its” pronouns, claiming that the “dehumanizing aspect” could be seen as “a positive effect when we’re requesting it.”
One NSA source told Rufo, “These are folks with top secret clearances believing they are an IT!”
Rufo reported that the leaked messages span two years and were provided by both a current NSA employee and a former one.
“Today’s action in holding these individuals accountable is just the beginning of what we’re seeing across the Trump administration, which is carrying out the mandate the American people gave him,” Gabbard said on Fox.
