CV NEWS FEED // Throughout the month of June, billboards depicting the centuries-old devotion to The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus have sprung up across the country, including in multiple areas of Wisconsin.
The Knights of Columbus St. John Neumann Council #973 in Kenosha, Wisconsin “have sponsored 10 Sacred Heart billboards across the city for the month of June,” a reader of the LOOP told CatholicVote.
Three-and-a-half hours away in Wausau, Wisconsin, another LOOP reader told CatholicVote: “We have two billboards, A City Transit bus, yard signs, bumper sticker magnets, flags and banners!”
“We are taking our month back!” the reader added.
Meanwhile in the Omaha, Nebraska metro area, another reader informed CatholicVote that billboards declaring “June is devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Christ is King!” have been placed in six different locations.
The Catholic magazine OnePeterFive highlighted another Sacred Heart billboard in Michigan in an X (formerly Twitter) post on June 3.
The battleground states of Wisconsin and Michigan and the red state of Nebraska are not the only places in the country to be graced by Sacred Heart billboards this June.
The life-sized reverential displays have even come to deep-blue areas such as New York City and California.
On Thursday, Catholic X influencer Sachin Jose posted a video of bustling Downtown Manhattan’s Times Square, showing a pair of billboards displaying an image of the Sacred Heart accompanied by the text “Christ is King!”
“Two huge Sacred Heart of Jesus billboards have been erected in New York’s Times Square, reminding thousands of passersby that the month of June belongs to the Sacred Heart of Jesus,” Jose wrote.
Next to the reverential billboards, a pro-LGBTQ ad promoting tourism to Washington, D.C. played, per the video Jose posted. The video depicted a gay male couple and the White House illuminated in rainbow lights.
Earlier this month, Jose posted an image of a Sacred Heart billboard in the heavily Democratic state of California.
