‘You Guys are Promoting Hate’: Pro-Palestine Protestors At UCLA Prevent Jewish Students From Going to Class, the Library

CV NEWS FEED // Pro-Palestine protestors at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) prevented multiple Jewish students from walking to class and the library, according to video evidence.

“Instagram user Eli Tsives shared footage of him showing his student ID to the activists, who repeated ‘We are not engaging’ while blocking his attempts to walk to his class,” The Jerusalem Post reported Tuesday.

“The activists are recorded lining up in front of Tsives, preventing his bypass,” the Post added.

Tsives posted the video of the incident to his Instagram Monday.

“We are UCLA students, I have my ID right here,” Tsives said in the video, while holding up his student identification card.

“I’m being blocked off, not by the security guard but by … you three,” he said to a trio of masked protestors. The security guard can be seen in the video standing off to the side and not intervening in the altercation.

Tsives tried to walk forward but the student demonstrators continued to block him.

“This is what they do,” Tsives said. “I’m a UCLA student. I deserve to go here. We pay tuition. This is our school. And they’re not letting me walk in.”

“My class is over there,” he said, pointing. “This can be over in a second. Just let me and my friends go into class.”

“We’re not engaging,” a female protestor responded.

After Tsives’ repeated attempts to enter, the masked students continued to stand in his way.

“You guys are promoting aggression. You guys are promoting hate,” Tsives said to the protestors.

A video of a separate anti-Semetic incident at UCLA was posted to X (formerly Twitter) by user Miha Schwartzenberg.

“It’s time to go. You don’t have a wristband,” a masked male protestor said to another male Jewish student in the video.

“Why do I need a wristband? the student asked.

“It’s time to go,” the protestor repeated.

A standoff ensued for nearly a minute. The protestors continued to refuse entrance to the student.

At the time, loud chants of “Ahallu Akbar” – a phrase widely associated with radical Islamic terrorism – could be heard multiple times in the background.

The Jewish student was eventually asked by a protestor if he was a Zionist.

“Of course I’m Zionist,” he replied. “So, you don’t let Zionists in the library I pay tuition for?”

“Are you a zionist ?”
“Of course I am”.
“So, u can’t enter.”
“I’m not allowed to enter the library, while paying tuition here?”
Just another Jewish student facing the disgusting antisemitism from the masked clowns “intellectuals”at UCLA.

Just hours after the video was posted, an audio clip of the student’s concerned mother’s phone call to UCLA police was also posted to X.

“They said because he’s Jewish he cannot enter that area and that they won’t issue him a wristband,” the young man’s mother told the campus police.

“That wasn’t a university thing,” the female voice on the other end replied. “That’s probably the protestors that are out there.”

“So, are the protestors allowed to not allow a student who pays tuition access to their class in the library?” the mother asked.

“No, they’re not allowed,” the woman answering the call replied. “But unfortunately they have kind of taken over that little area right there. Is there any other entrance that your son can enter through?”

“No,” the mother responded. “They are barricading every area for him to get into.”

“With all due respect,” the mother added, “why is that even tolerated? Why should a Jewish kid have to go to another entrance?”

Parent @UCLA gave permission to release this audio of her phone call with @UCLAPD as they describe the school’s directive to allow protestors to restrict the movement of Jewish students.

Longtime FOX anchor David Asman wrote on X: “What amazes me is the patience of the Jewish student attempting to enter his own school.”

“The University is absolutely complicit in virulent anti-semitism,” Asman added. “This is a flagrant violation of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. UCLA should immediately lose ALL federal funding and grants.”

Author and political commentator Dave Rubin wrote on X: “Imagine if a black kid was being denied entry to UCLA by white students…”

“We’d all know his name, the NBA season would be cancelled, cities would be burning and dementia man would’ve sent in the national guard,” Rubin emphasized.

Christina Pushaw, a top aide to Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis wrote in an X post that “[b]lockading a public area at a university and preventing Jewish students from passing through it,” is “NOT constitutionally protected free speech.”

“Should be obvious but it has to be said,” Pushaw stressed.

Constitutionally protected free speech:
– Criticizing Israel and its government’s policies
– Criticizing the USA and our government’s policies
– Shouting “Free Palestine”

NOT constitutionally protected free speech:
– Blockading a public area at a university and preventing…
