CV NEWS FEED // Less than a day after Iran launched an unprecedented drone attack against Israel, Sen. John Kennedy, R-LA, alleged that President Joe Biden is being influenced by leftists sympathetic to terrorist groups such as Hamas.
“It is clear that President Biden is being influenced by the Hamas wing of the Democratic Party,” Kennedy told hostess Shannon Bream on FOX News Sunday.
He discussed the likely prospect of the House passing a foreign aid package.
“[U]nfortunately I predict that if it comes back to the Senate the big issue on those bills will not be Ukraine,” the senator said. “The big issue will be Israel.”
Bream pointed out that socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-VT, last month advocated for sending “not another nickel” to Israel. Sanders at the time accused the Israeli government of a “wholesale slaughter of the Palestinian people.”
“[Sanders] seems determined to block anything going to Israel,” Bream said.
“Yes,” Kennedy agreed. “And in the past 60 days we have seen President Biden go wobbly in his support of Israel.”
“Today, the White House has already leaked to the press … that they’re not going to participate in an Israeli response to what Iran just did,” the lawmaker pointed out.
“[M]ore sheep is not going to solve the wolf problem,” he continued:
My advice to the president today — for what it’s worth — Mr. President, don’t stop it. Support Israel. With respect, go to Amazon and buy a spine online. Peace through weakness never works, not with these hard armed men.
Hours later, the senator reiterated the same claim in a post to X (formerly Twitter).
Some observers charge that Biden may be shifting his tone on Israel in an attempt to win over the large Arab American and Muslim communities in the important battleground state of Michigan.
Columnist Joe Concha appeared to raise this point after a report from the Jerusalem Post that “in advance of [Iran’s] planned operation against Israel … the US conveyed to Iran via [Turkey] that its operation must be ‘within certain limits.’”
Concha wrote on X: “So apparently Team Biden went from warning Iran ‘don’t’ attack Israel to ‘sure, go ahead… just don’t overdo it.’ Michigan. Michigan. Michigan…”
During Michigan’s Democratic Primary late February, “14.3% of Democratic Primary voters cast ‘uncommitted’ ballots,” CatholicVote reported at the time.
Many of these voters, including far-left Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-MI, cited their frustration with the Biden administration’s previous support of Israel in its ongoing war against Hamas.
The Hill indicated at the time: “Biden is facing growing anger from progressives over the ongoing conflict in Gaza, and the campaign has seen warning signs in its reception from Michigan’s significant Arab American communities.”

Sanders, an independent who caucuses with the Democrats, seems to share these leftists’ views. A March 2 report from The Hill stated:
[Sanders] said the recent protest vote, where more than 100,000 people in the Michigan primary voted for “uncommitted” instead of Biden, shows the White House that there are large numbers of young voters, minority voters and others “who are sick and tired of the slaughter of the Palestinian people.”Monday, pro-Palestine demonstrators blocked several lanes on the Kennedy Expressway (I-190) preventing travel into Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.
The airport wrote on X Monday morning: “Vehicular travel into O’Hare may be substantially delayed this morning due to protest activity on I-190. Departing passengers are encouraged to consider alternative modes of transportation to the airport.”
The traffic and protest were caught on video.
Political commentator Collin Rugg stated that “[a]ll outbound lanes” on the highway were blocked.
“People were seen getting out of their cars and making the long walk to the terminal so they didn’t miss their flights,” Rugg added.
He called the demonstration a “clown show.”
