Opening America’s Heartland to Marriage symposium to be held in Kansas

CV NEWS FEED // An upcoming marriage symposium in Kansas promises to strengthen married couples’ relationships and family lives, as well as provide insights on marriage from several different perspectives.

According to the event’s website, the Opening America’s Heartland to Marriage symposium will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawnee, Kansas on April 12. The symposium is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Kansas City, Kansas, Benedictine College, Communio, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

“Leading experts and practitioners will speak on the current and future state of marriage from a data, social science and faith perspective while inspiring us with proven methods for strengthening marriage and sparking marriage revivals in our communities,” the website states.

The symposium includes Mass celebrated by Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann, Archbishop of Kansas City, Kansas, as well as several talks and a Q&A session with the featured speakers.

Featured speakers at the symposium include Archbishop Naumann, Brad Wilcox, author and director of the National Marriage Project, Amy Hamilton, a research associate and author, and J.P. De Gance, an author and president and founder of the marriage ministry Communio.

The talks range from discussing why marriage matters today and how to renew marriage in order to renew the Church to unpacking what the future of marriage within the Church might look like.
