CV NEWS FEED // The “pro-life spiderman,” 24-year-old Maison Des Champs, climbed the 366-foot Las Vegas Sphere this week to raise money for a homeless expecting mother considering abortion.
On February 7, Des Champs scaled the outside of the massive sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada, with no harnesses or additional equipment. Within approximately 20 minutes, he climbed to the top, where he recorded himself sharing the pro-life message.
Des Champs is a partner with Let Them Live, a pro-life fundraising organization for women considering abortion.
“Hey guys, I’m here on top of the sphere,” Des Champs said in a video on social media once he made it to the top. He noted that the authorities requested that he come back down through a door on top of the sphere.
“I guess they’re gonna make me go through the top, but I just wanted to say that we are doing this today to raise money for a mother named Isabel. She is homeless and pregnant and needs help,” Des Champs said, pointing viewers to donate to help Isabel through Let Them Live’s website.
“Big things, Praise be to God. I will talk to y’all later,” Des Champs said at the end of the video.
Des Champs was arrested after returning to the ground and has since been released from prison.
Isabel’s abortion is scheduled for February 10. On the Let Them Live website, the fundraiser for Isabel has reached nearly $36,600 of its $50,000 goal. Click here to donate.

The Las Vegas Sphere is close to the destination of this year’s Super Bowl, a game that will draw thousands of attendees and millions of at-home viewers. Global popstar Taylor Swift will be at the game in support of her boyfriend and football player Travis Kelce.
Des Champs commented that while millions of people are enthusiastic about the Swift-Kelce updates, the real focus in Las Vegas – and around the country – should be fighting abortion.
“Over 2,000 children meet their demise through abortion every day in America, but we’ve grown apathetic about it. We care more about seeing Taylor Swift on the kiss cam than a third of our generation that has been wiped from abortion,” Des Champs said, according to Christian News Wire.
Police said that Des Champs caused nearly $100,000 in damages to the Sphere, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Des Champs “faces charges of destruction of property, conspiracy to destroy property and disregarding the safety of persons or property in connection with the Wednesday climb,” the Review-Journal reported.
Police also arrested Des Champs’ friends who were recording the climb and handing out fliers about Des Champs’ pro-life actions.
Des Champs has scaled many other buildings to raise awareness to the pro-life cause, and has been arrested multiple times. The Las Vegas Review-Journal noted that on February 7, “according to the report, Des Champs bragged to officers that he had never been convicted and that he would not be convicted in this case.”
Des Champs’ court date is set for March 14.
