CV NEWS FEED // Pro-life congressman Rep. Jim Banks, R-IN, will reintroduce a bill this week that would require abortion mills to provide a proper burial to the remains of aborted babies.
The Respectful Treatment of Unborn Remains Act would prohibit abortion facilities from discarding fetal remains in publicly owned water systems.
The first time Banks introduced the bill in 2022, he observed that “numerous states allow abortion providers to dispose of fetal remains in public water systems via sinks, toilets, bathtubs, and more.”
“Abortion providers will grind fetal parts with medical waste and dispose of the remains in public sewage. This is a public health concern and an inhumane treatment of abortion victims,” the introduction of the bill argues.
Under the terms of the bill, abortion facilities face up to five years in prison for improperly disposing of unborn remains. The bill clarifies that the mothers of the unborn children are not liable for any offense related to the violation.
