The Eucharist and Charity: Lives of Service Illustrate Intrinsic Connection

The Fraternity Poor of Jesus Christ, a religious community with both male and female branches originally founded in Brazil, hosted ‘Anawin Mission,’ a special week of service to the poor involving sisters, friars, lay associates, and volunteers, at Skid Row in Los Angeles. Included as part of the Anawin Mission was a Eucharistic Procession on July 15, 2023.

While some have criticized the ongoing Eucharistic Revival for drawing attention away from works of mercy and acts of justice, the lives of Catholics devoted to both the poor and the Eucharist show they go hand in hand.
