Mt 13: 44-46
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which someone found and hid; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls; on finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Spiritual Treasures
Spiritual goods never depreciate. God’s spiritual economy never suffers from inflation. God’s grace, the gift of faith, the sacraments, are just as valuable to the human person now as they were in the past, or as they will be in the future. Are we able to discern the value of these spiritual realities in our life?
Collectors of antiques often have stories of finding a rare item that appears worthless to the average eye, but to the one who knows about items, they can see something which is priceless. Jesus’ parable asks Christian to reflect on our spiritual vision today.
Let us pray for the grace for eyes and hearts that can see what is truly valuable within our lives and to discover the spiritual treasures hidden within the ordinary moments of our lives, where Christ is waiting for us to find him and claim him.
