CV NEWS FEED // Pope Francis is preparing the meditations for the Way of the Cross, or “Via Crucis,” on Good Friday at the Colosseum in Rome. The Holy See Press Office will release the meditations at noon local time on Good Friday.
Vatican News reported that it is too early to predict Pope Franci’s participation in the Triduum and Easter liturgies. The Holy Father has announced which cardinals will preside over some of the Holy Thursday and Good Friday liturgies.
The Holy Thursday evening Mass “in coena Domini” will take place at 6 p.m. in St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican News reported.
Cardinal Domenico Calcagno, president emeritus of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See (APSA), will preside over the Chrism Mass Holy Thursday morning.
On Good Friday, Cardinal Claudio Gugerotti, the prefect of the Dicastery for Eastern Churches, will preside over the Passion Liturgy in St. Peter’s Basilica.
Cardinal Baldo Reina, the Pope’s vicar general of Rome, will preside over the Via Crucis at the Colosseum.
Pope Francis continues to show slight health improvements, Vatican News added, and is able to go long periods of time without oxygen administration.
