CV NEWS FEED // Elon Musk, head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), unveiled a “mind-blowing” chart Sunday showing a sharp rise in Social Security numbers issued to illegal immigrants under the Biden administration.
At a town hall meeting in Wisconsin, Musk and DOGE colleague Antonio Gracias accused the administration of manipulating immigration policy to reshape US elections—an approach they say is also fueling a growing humanitarian crisis at the southern border.
“It was a massive, large-scale program to import as many illegals as possible, ultimately, to change the entire voting map of the United States and disenfranchise the American people and make it a permanent, deep blue one-party state from which there would be no escape,” said Gracias, speaking one day before Wisconsin’s critical Supreme Court election.
The chart cited data from the Enumeration Beyond Entry (EBE) program, which the Biden administration expanded in 2024 to expedite Social Security issuance for immigrants.
According to Musk and Gracias, the number of Social Security numbers issued to noncitizens soared from 270,425 in fiscal year 2021 to over 2 million in 2024.
Musk’s report follows DOGE’s February finding that the Social Security database included records for tens of millions of individuals listed as over the age of 100.
Gracias said that under the Biden administration’s policies, illegal border crossings were treated as minor administrative offenses, allowing migrants to remain while awaiting court hearings that take years.
At that point, Gracias said, the Social Security Administration would automatically mail individuals a Social Security number, without requiring any interview or ID verification.
The pair alleged that many noncitizens are now receiving public benefits. “We found 1.3 million of them already on Medicaid,” Gracias stated, claiming similar trends across other public programs.
More concerning to Gracias and Musk was evidence of voter registration and participation.
“We actually just took a sample and looked at voter registration records, and we found people here registered to vote. In this population,” said Gracias. “We have referred them to prosecution at the Homeland Security Investigation Service.”
Critics online pushed back, arguing on Musk’s social media post that a Social Security number does not necessarily mean someone voted illegally.
Beyond electoral implications, Gracias stressed the humanitarian toll caused by this process. He cited ICE data showing that 270,000 migrant children never received notices to appear in court and are still being trafficked across the border.
“The human tragedy this created is extraordinary,” he said, pointing to an estimated $13–15 billion in profits made by human traffickers due to US immigration policy incentives.
“We created a system here that created an incentive for people to come and be taken advantage of by these traffickers,” Gracias said. “That’s the real problem. This is America. We don’t do this here in America.
