CV NEWS FEED // The first graduating class of Catholic University of America (CUA)’s pilot program in Tucson, Arizona attended the main campus commencement ceremony this past weekend in Washington, DC.
According to a May 14 CUA news release, the four graduates traveled from Tucson to participate in commencement ceremonies, a “milestone moment” for the program, which has grown from 14 to 65 students since it was launched in 2020.
Tucson Assistant Dean Kieran Roche stated in the release that he was “very happy and honored to shake their hands at the diploma ceremony,” adding: “They are great gifts to the university who will go forth to change the world for the better and build the kingdom of God.”
Roche further noted that it was important for Tucson students to attend the traditional commencement ceremony, and to know that CUA is “one campus, one institution, and one community.”
CUA inaugurated the fast-growing Bachelor of Arts in Management program at Pima Community College in Tucson, marketed as “an affordable, non-residential, experiential four year program,” grounded in CUA’s traditional liberal arts core.
The program consists of hybrid courses designed by CUA faculty and delivered by adjunct professors in Tucson.
