CV NEWSFEED // The Eucharistic Congress has announced that it will host a special session for priestly renewal at its upcoming conference in July.
In a recent press release, the Eucharistic Congress issued an invitation to all priests to attend “a special experience called Abide.”
“Your priestly heart is at the heart of the Eucharistic Revival,” the release stated: “As Jesus shared the Last Supper with the apostles, instituting both the Eucharist and the Priesthood, Jesus invited the very first priests to draw near and abide in him.”
According to the Eucharistic Revival website, possible sessions available for priests on the first day will include a talk from Scott Hahn, titled: “Eucharistic Amazement and the Heart of the Priest: Growing in Intimacy,” and a talk from Fr Brian Welter on “The Martyrdom of Prayer.”
The second day “will explore the themes of Eucharistic mission and identity,” with a panel that will discuss how priests can “accompany their parishioners in living a Eucharistic life,” along with a talk from Bishop Andrew Cozzens of Crookston on “fruitfulness, effectiveness, and sacrificial love in the priesthood.”
Lastly, the third day will feature two talks focused on “Eucharistic servant leadership and remembering the poor.”
“There are many ways to experience the National Eucharistic Congress, including sessions tailored to various vocations, missions, and stages of life,” the release continued. “In that same way, we have prayerfully crafted a special experience called Abide for you, our priests.”
The release concluded:
“Gather with your brother priests for unique opportunities for reflection, fellowship, and prayer—inviting you into greater intimacy with Jesus Christ, the Great High Priest.”
