A Prayer for Deep Healing and Surrender
O Merciful Father,
rich in compassion and slow to anger,
You who promised through Your prophet Isaiah
that when we call, You will answer,
and before we even speak, You are listening—
hear the silent cry of my heart this day.
Lord Jesus, Divine Physician,
You who called sinners to Your table without hesitation,
look upon the broken places within me.
Heal what pride has hardened,
what selfishness has withered,
what neglect has left barren.
Like a garden long parched,
renew me from within.
Let Your grace fall like gentle rain,
soaking the dry soil of my heart
until it blooms again in virtue and love.
Holy Spirit, Flame of divine charity,
kindle in me a deeper sorrow for sin—
not a despairing sorrow, but one that leads to life:
a contrition that opens my eyes to Your mercy,
that stirs gratitude for the Cross,
and that moves me to forgive as I have been forgiven.
I surrender to You this day, O Lord.
Take my small sacrifices—
the fasting from food or words or distractions—
and unite them to Your perfect offering on Calvary.
Make them fruitful, not for my glory,
but for the healing of my soul
and the salvation of those I carry in prayer.
Mother Mary, Refuge of sinners,
who stood beneath the Cross in silent, piercing sorrow,
intercede for me.
Teach me to say “Fiat” in the hidden trials of this Lent,
that I may be formed more perfectly into the image of your Son.
Lord, in this quiet fourth day,
grant me the grace to rest in Your presence,
to listen more than I speak,
to allow Your mercy to penetrate deeper than my defenses.
May I emerge from this desert time
not merely unchanged, but transformed—
more humble, more loving, more Yours.
Through Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever. Amen.
