The pericardium of Saint Carlo Acutis, a first-class relic, will be at the Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral in Toledo, Ohio, Feb. 7–9.
The Toledo diocese website states that Monsignor Anthony Figueiredo, the promoter of St. Carlo’s cause and the author of Carlo Acutis: Saint of the Young, will bring the relic from Assisi, Italy, and offer reflections and catechesis about the saint.
Alicia Weinandy, the office manager of the cathedral, confirmed with Zeale in a voice message that the relic is the pericardium, the protective sac that surrounds the heart. The cathedral also has a permanent relic of St. Carlo’s hair, which the faithful may come to venerate whenever the cathedral is open.
The faithful have the opportunity to venerate the relic from 2:30 to 4:45 p.m. Feb. 7 and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 8. On Feb. 10, the cathedral will hold a Mass for schoolchildren in the diocese.
St. Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint, was canonized by Pope Leo XIV on Sept. 7, 2025, as CatholicVote previously reported. He is known for his devotion to the Eucharist. He sought to spread love for the Blessed Sacrament through his online museum of Eucharistic miracles.
