Meditation / Reflection:
Saint John Bosco, you nurtured a filial love for the Church and the Pope. You courageously spoke and wrote in defense of the Vicar of Christ amid difficult times, showing unwavering loyalty even when it was unpopular or challenging. Your deep devotion to the Church stemmed from your love for Christ Himself, whom you saw present in His Mystical Body. You taught that true love for God is inseparable from love for His Church and obedience to the successor of Peter.
In your life, you faced trials, misunderstandings, and opposition, yet you never wavered in your fidelity to the Pope and the teachings of the Church. You encouraged your boys and your Salesians to see the Church as our loving Mother and the Pope as our spiritual father. This loyalty was not blind but rooted in faith, prayer, and a desire to bring souls to Christ through the guidance of the Magisterium.

- How do I show love and loyalty to the Church in my daily life?
- Do I pray regularly for the Pope and the Church’s leaders?
- In times of confusion or scandal, do I seek to defend the truth with charity and remain faithful, or do I allow doubt to weaken my commitment?
- Like Don Bosco, am I willing to stand firm in faith even when it costs me something?
St. John Bosco, help me to imitate your example of deep love for the Church and unswerving loyalty to the Pope. Teach me to see the Pope as the visible sign of unity and to defend the faith with courage and charity. Obtain for me the grace to remain steadfast in my Catholic faith amid the challenges of today’s world.

O glorious Saint John Bosco, who in order to lead young people to the feet of the divine Master and to mold them in the light of faith and Christian morality didst heroically sacrifice thyself to the very end of thy life and didst set up a proper religious Institute destined to endure and to bring to the farthest boundaries of the earth thy glorious work, obtain also for us from Our Lord a holy love for young people who are exposed to so many seductions in order that we may generously spend ourselves in supporting them against the snares of the devil, in keeping them safe from the dangers of the world, and in guiding them, pure and holy, in the path that leads to God.
