US military carries out third strike on Venezuelan vessel linked to narcoterrorists

President Donald Trump announced Oct. 14 that the U.S. military has conducted its third strike in recent weeks against a vessel linked to drug trafficking off Venezuela, killing six men the administration described as “narcoterrorists.”

In a Truth Social post, Trump said the operation targeted “a vessel affiliated with a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO) conducting narcotrafficking in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility — just off the Coast of Venezuela.”

“Intelligence confirmed the vessel was trafficking narcotics, was associated with illicit narcoterrorist networks, and was transiting along a known DTO route,” Trump wrote. “The strike was conducted in International Waters, and six male narcoterrorists aboard the vessel were killed in the strike. No U.S. Forces were harmed.”

The White House later released footage of the strike on social media.

The strike marks the third such attack since early September. On Sept. 2, the U.S. military struck a vessel linked to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, killing 11 crew members. Two weeks later, on Sept. 15, Trump said another  “kinetic strike” hit “confirmed narcoterrorists from Venezuela” and killed three.
