Biography
Saint Stephen (c. 975–1038) was the first King of Hungary and is remembered for bringing Christianity to his kingdom. Born into the royal Árpád dynasty, he worked tirelessly to establish churches, promote the faith, and organize a Christian government. Stephen was known for his wisdom, justice, and dedication to spreading the Gospel throughout Hungary.
He faced many challenges in uniting his people under Christianity, but his perseverance and faith earned him the title of King-Saint. He was canonized in 1083 and remains the patron saint of Hungary.
Prayer
O God, who raised Saint Stephen to govern his people with wisdom and faith,
grant that we too may live in justice and charity,
and strive to build Your kingdom on earth.
