The Holy Father encouraged Catholics to renew the Mother of God’s song of praise — known as the Magnificat — in their own lives. At his Angelus he said: ‘Mary, whom the Risen Christ carried body and soul into glory, shines as an icon of hope for her pilgrim children throughout history.’
