Lent is a time of purification and renewal, an opportunity to cleanse ourselves of sin and turn back to the Lord with sincere hearts. Today, we are reminded of the importance of humility and repentance. In the Gospel, we are often called to humble ourselves before God, acknowledging our weaknesses and our need for His mercy.
Prayer:
Lord, give us the strength to turn away from sin and to walk in Your light. Guide us on our Lenten journey, that we may grow closer to You through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Open our hearts to Your will, and help us to be instruments of peace and love in the world.
Lent is a time of going very deeply into ourselves… What is it that stands between us and God? Between us and our brothers and sisters? Between us and life, the life of the Spirit? Whatever it is, let us relentlessly tear it out, without a moment’s hesitation. -Catherine Doherty
