A mother will never abandon her children and the first thing a parent will do if they see their child crying – is go with urgency to attend to the child. Saint John Climacus, one of the desert fathers’ states that when we experience tears, our souls become like babies. Tears lead us to become like little children, whom Jesus calls us to become in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven (cf. Matthew 18:3).
Pray for the gift of tears for peace in Our World and offer Our Lady your tears for this intention this Month. Jesus wept with grief over the death of Lazarus. He wept with longing over Jerusalem. His deepest prayers surfaced as tears. May our deepest prayers for Peace also surface as tears so that these tears can be aligned with His and so we can offer them to Our Lady, His Mother, and Our Mother, for Peace in our World.
