Saint of the Day: Saint Zenon, Martyr of Nicomedia

Saint Zenon was a Christian martyr who lived in Nicomedia, an important city of the ancient Roman Empire. He remained faithful to Jesus Christ during a time when Christians faced persecution for their faith.

According to the ancient account of his martyrdom, Saint Zenon suffered and gave his life for Christ together with his two sons, Concordius and Theodore. Rather than abandon his faith, he chose to remain faithful to Jesus even when doing so meant facing suffering and death.

His courage reminds us that true faith is not only something we profess with our lips—it is something we live, especially when life becomes difficult.

Saint Zenon teaches us to remain faithful when we are afraid, when our prayers seem unanswered, and when we face trials that we do not understand. His witness reminds us that Christ is worth following even when the road is difficult.

Today, let us ask Saint Zenon to pray for us, our families, and all Christians who are suffering because of their faith.

A Prayer to Saint Zenon

Dear Saint Zenon,
faithful martyr of Christ,
pray for us that we may never lose our faith
when we face suffering, fear, or uncertainty.

Ask Jesus to strengthen our families,
protect those who are persecuted for their faith,
and give courage to those who are facing difficult trials.

Help us to remain faithful to Christ
and to trust Him even when we cannot see the way forward.

Saint Zenon, faithful servant of Jesus,
pray for us.

Amen.

Saint Zenon, pray for us!
Saint Zenon, pray for our families!
Saint Zenon, pray for persecuted Christians!
