The Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord celebrates the moment when Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven forty days after His Resurrection. Before ascending to the Father, Christ blessed His disciples and commanded them to continue spreading the Gospel to all nations.

Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ,
on the day of Your Ascension,
You opened the gates of Heaven
and prepared a place for us in Your Kingdom.
Strengthen our faith and help us
to follow You with trust and perseverance.
Teach us to seek the things of Heaven
while faithfully serving You on earth.
Send Your Holy Spirit upon Your Church,
so that we may boldly proclaim Your Gospel
with love, hope, and courage.
May the Blessed Virgin Mary
guide us always closer to You,
until the day we rejoice with You in eternal glory.
