Day 8: 40 Days of Lent 2026

Scripture FocusMatthew 7:7-8 (often highlighted for this day)

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”This Gospel reminds us that God is a loving Father who invites us to come to Him boldly and persistently in prayer.

Short Reflection

On this eighth day of Lent, we are invited to examine how we pray. Do we approach God with confidence, like a child asking their parent, or do we hold back out of doubt or discouragement?

Lent is a time to renew our trust — God hears every sincere prayer, even when the answer comes slowly or differently than we expect. Just as Jesus persisted in the desert, we are called to persevere in seeking God’s will through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Let today be a day to “knock” with faith, bringing your deepest needs, worries, and hopes to the Lord without fear.

Lenten Prayer for Day 8

Heavenly Father,
You invite me to ask, seek, and knock with the promise that You will answer.
Forgive me for the times I have grown weary in prayer or doubted Your goodness.
Renew in me a spirit of trust and perseverance.
Help me to bring all my burdens to You today with childlike confidence, knowing You care for me more than I can imagine.
May my Lenten journey draw me closer to Your heart, where true peace is found.
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.

Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory Be…

Small Action for Today

Spend 5–10 extra minutes in quiet prayer this evening. Bring one specific intention (personal, for a loved one, or for the world) and present it to God with trust. If possible, journal a few words about what you sense Him saying in return.

May Our Lady of the Rosary intercede for you as you continue this holy season. Keep going — you’re not alone on this journey!
