Saint Maximus of Riez
Feast Day: November 27
Saint Maximus of Riez was a 5th-century monk, abbot, and later bishop in southern France. Known for his deep humility and love of prayer, Maximus lived a life of simplicity, serving the poor and guiding many souls to holiness. As abbot of Lérins Abbey, he helped form some of the greatest Church leaders of his time. Later, as Bishop of Riez, he continued his gentle pastoral care, offering wisdom, healing, and peace to all who sought him.
Saint Maximus is remembered as a model of quiet service—someone who led not through authority, but through holiness.
