One Minute Catechism – How Did the Body of the First Man Originate?

Question: How did the body of the first man originate?
Answer: The body of the first man, Adam, was formed by God from the dust of the earth. As Scripture says, “Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being” (Genesis 2:7). This shows that while man’s body comes from the earth, his soul is spiritual and comes directly from God.

Reflection: Lord, remind me that my life and every breath are Your gifts. May I always live in gratitude and use my body and soul to glorify You.
