(March 6, 2025) Jesus Said: Take up your cross and follow Me
If anyone wishes to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.” – Matthew 16:24
Lent is a journey—a call to walk alongside Christ in the desert, to embrace sacrifice, and to open our hearts to deeper conversion. Today, as we take another step in this sacred season, we reflect on what it truly means to follow Jesus.
Denying ourselves is not about rejecting who we are but about letting go of anything that keeps us from God. It may be our comfort, our distractions, our attachments, or even our pride. Carrying our cross means accepting life’s burdens with faith, knowing that suffering, when united with Christ, becomes a pathway to grace.
What is Christ asking you to surrender today? What cross are you called to carry with greater trust? Let us ask for the strength to walk this journey not alone, but hand in hand with Him who first loved us.
Prayer:
Lord, as I continue this Lenten journey, help me to deny myself, take up my cross, and follow You more closely. Strengthen me to embrace the sacrifices before me with love, knowing that through them, I draw nearer to You. Amen.
Make this Lent the best of your life (Prayer, Fasting, Almsgiving).
